Today, The Crooked House is home to the Crooked Men, Alex (left) and Oli (right); the latest in a 600-year line of custodians of this ancient place.
Our story starts in 2018, on a dark December’s evening. Alex was in Lavenham on a weekend away, with the recommendation to visit The Crooked House - a tearoom at the time.
On stepping inside, he fell in love and dreamt of living there one day. It seemed impossible, but when the world went into lockdown for the Covid-19 pandemic, everything changed...
“From our first ‘video date’, I knew we’d be together forever”
It was during 2020’s first lockdown that Alex and Oli met online. They quickly fell in love and began to dream of a life together. Before long, their conversations turned to The Crooked House. Remarkably, this magical little house was up for sale - could it be the perfect home for these two ‘Crooked Men’?
Just three months after meeting for the first time, Alex and Oli were buying their dream home and soon moved into The Crooked House together.
Later that year, they got married in The Crooked House - a fairytale home for a fairytale romance.
