Black tie Dinners

Our award-winning Black tie Dinners at The Crooked House are immersive, sociable experiences, bringing to life the 600-year story of our ancient home.

These popular dining experiences take place on specific dates throughout the year, often marking key celebratory occasions. Each time, we welcome 16 guests into our home for a Champagne Reception, followed by a hearty home-cooked three-course meal, enjoyed together around our dining table.

Hosted and cooked by the Crooked Men, these magical evenings are very special occasions, with a ‘black tie’ dress code to match. The perfect excuse to get dressed up, for a truly memorable night!

Our next Black tie Dinners are…
A Crooked Christmas

Due to a major restoration project taking place at The Crooked House in the second half of 2026, our next Black tie Dinners will be in December, celebrating ‘A Crooked Christmas’.

Built in 1395, our ancient home has seen six centuries of Christmas - from Medieval and Tudor Yuletide to Victorian traditions and our very own modern-day Christmas love story.

Join us to celebrate Christmas at The Crooked House with this magical, immersive dining experience that will leave you feeling fabulously festive!

Tickets will be released exclusively through our free newsletter. Sign up here to be first to find out when tickets go on sale.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer accommodation / where can I stay the night?

With only one bedroom here, you sadly can’t stay at The Crooked House! However, Lavenham has two hotels in the village, along with a number of holiday cottages available on AirBnb.

The whole village is small and walkable, so wherever you choose to book, you’ll only be a short stroll to The Crooked House on the High Street!

How do I get to you from London?

It’s easy to get to The Crooked House from London. Direct and frequent trains run from London Liverpool Street Station to Colchester Station (45-min), followed by a 30-min pre-booked taxi to Lavenham.

By car, The Crooked House is a 2-hour drive from central London and there are three car parks in the village.

What time does Dinner start and end?

All Black tie Dinners start at 7pm sharp, with no latecomers admitted - so don’t be late!

Our evening together will finish at 11pm.

What’s the dress code?

The Crooked House gets dressed up for Dinner, so we ask our guests to do the same. Our events have a ‘black tie’ dress code, with long or cocktail dresses both acceptable.

Can I take photos / videos?

No, you can’t. All events at The Crooked House have a strict ‘no photo/video’ policy, to ensure the privacy of our guests and our home. So switch off your phone and immerse yourself in the experience!

How many friends can I bring?

Black tie Dinners at The Crooked House are wonderfully sociable occasions. Some guests come on their own, some as a couple, others bring a group of friends - and we mix everyone together around our dining table.

However, to ensure a fair mix of guests, tickets are limited to a maximum of six per person. For larger parties, please see Private Dining.

I have dietary restrictions…

Please let us know any dietary restrictions when requesting tickets and we will do our best to accommodate. As all our dishes are home-cooked and prepared by us in our own kitchen, we may be unable to cater for severe allergies, but please contact us to discuss.
