A Treasure worth Saving…

From the front, The Crooked House is a vision of medieval beauty, but what you don’t see is the rotting back wall, covered in 1960s concrete render…

A decade known for its architectural atrocities, the 1960s did more damage to The Crooked House than the previous 600 years - with the concrete pebbledash now trapping in moisture and rotting its ancient oak frame.

All our activity here at The Crooked House - from Black Tie Dinners to sales from our Gift Shop - helps us preserve and protect this ancient place. The back wall restoration is our next big project - removing the render, repairing the beams and protecting them with traditional lime plaster.

A big thank you to everyone who’s booked tickets, attended events, bought products or joined our ‘Crooked Family’ below. Your support is hugely appreciated and helps us preserve The Crooked House for the next 600 years!
